Scholarships

Awarded to a newly-admitted student who intends to study English or Literary Studies.

To be awarded annually to an outstanding student in a course or courses concerned with real estate.

Awarded to female students over 25 years of age to enable them to engage in Full time degree studies at Victoria College. Preference will be given to students who are enrolled in Specialist or Major Programs offered by the Department of English or the Department of History.

To be awarded to the student entering the University of Toronto from Parkdale Collegiate with the highest grade point average. This student must have demonstrated financial need and Ontario residency in order to qualify for the award

Awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit to outstanding third or fourth year students who are enrolled in a program offered by the Department of Political Science, who have completed at least 2.0 full course equivalents in Canadian Politics, including POL214Y or POL224Y.

Bequest of the late Professor Margaret Jane Sinden (UC 1937), who taught German at University College from 1946 to 1979. Preference will be given to a student taking German, who is enrolled in the Specialist program in Modern Languages and Literatures, or who is taking a program of courses equivalent to or leading toward that specialty. Established by a bequest of Margaret Jean Leppington (UC 1950), this award assists University College students to travel abroad in order to study in the modern languages other than English. The value and number of scholarships are variable according to need and academic merit.

Awarded to a student proceeding to Second Year of Civil Engineering (having completed first year of any undergraduate program in the Faculty). The award is given to the student with the most improvement between first and second term of first year as measured by the Full time term averages. In the event of a tie, the award will go to the student with the highest grade in CIV100/102.

To be awarded to a student enrolled in an English program on the basis of academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student with an interest in creative writing. Students are automatically considered for this award in September. Selection based on academic results from the previous fall/winter session.

Awarded to undergraduate or graduate students on admission to the University of Toronto or in-course level who demonstrate exceptional achievement in mathematics. Financial need may also be considered.
