Awarded to Victoria College students who completed Third Year with high standing

Awarded to a student proceeding to 3rd or 4th year of Engineering and who is pursuing either a major in Biomedical Systems Engineering or a minor in Biomedical Engineering. Recipients must demonstrate financial need. Academic standing will also be considered.

Zubin Austin has been either a teacher or a student at the University of Toronto continuously since 1984, earning two bachelors’ degrees, three masters’ degrees and a PhD during this time. Since 1994, he has worked full time at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and most recently as Professor and inaugural holder of the Ontario College of Pharmacists Professorship in Pharmacy Practice Research. The Professor Zubin Austin Award is awarded to a student in any year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program who is in financial need and resides the furthest distance away in Canada from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Students are eligible to receive this award only once during their studies at the Faculty. Information on application procedures will be provided to Doctor of Pharmacy students via e-mail in late September.

Awarded to a student entering any undergraduate program in the Faculty who has demonstrated financial need and has excelled academically. Preference is given to disabled students.

The Prosthodontics Prize, donated in 1948 by the late F. L. Cole, D.D.S., will be awarded to the most outstanding Fourth Year student in the field of clinical Prosthodontics. The monetary award is derived from the income from the trust fund. First awarded in 1949 and the terms revised in 1974.

The University of Toronto Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship program provides funding to Graduate Faculties to increase opportunities for hiring postdoctoral fellows from underrepresented groups, specifically Indigenous and Black researchers. These fellowships will enable postdoctoral researchers to grow their scholarly profiles, undertake academic work at the University of Toronto, and strengthen the research environment at the University with diverse perspectives. Potential nominees interested in the Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program should contact the nominating supervisor.

Awarded to an undergraduate student entering second, third or fourth year at University of Toronto at Scarborough who has special educational needs due to a physical or learning disability who i) has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in his/her school or community ii) is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident iii) has a good academic record (minimum B average/3.0 GPA/approx. 75%). For applicants that have a cumulative GPA that is less than 3.0, but have increased to a minimum of 3.0 in the most recent sessional GPA since diagnosis and/or supports have been implemented to compensate for the disability, should explain their GPA, and iv) demonstrates financial need. Preference is normally given to Full time students. However, students who are not enrolled in a Full time course load may explain the reasons for carrying a part-time course load.
