Scholarships

Awarded to recognize and encourage outstanding performance by students enrolled in the Peace, Conflict and Justice Program (PCJ) who demonstrate financial need (OSAP).

Mr. Mehul Pathak (Class of 9T3) established an award in memory of his mother, Sharmistha Pathak, to honour his family legacy of entrepreneurship and the person she was. Sharmistha was deeply charitable and dedicated to giving back to her community through volunteerism.

To be awarded annually to one or two students entering the final year of the medical program on the basis of financial need. The committee will take the following into consideration: general academic proficiency, concern for student welfare and commitment to community service. Applications will be available in the fall.

This award was established by Philip Feldberg in honour of Sharon Wells and in memory to her family. Sharon was a pharmacy assistant at Medico Pharmacy for 22 years. The recipient will be nominated by class members of Third Year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program and, like Sharon, will have demonstrated leadership skills, be dependable, compassionate, socially active and generous in helping others.

Awarded on the recommendation of the Italian Department at Erindale to an outstanding UTM student upon completion of the following course ITA200Y. The recipient must be registered in at least a Minor in Italian as well as having obtained a minimum 'A' grade in ITA200Y. Recipients would be excluded from receiving another Italian scholarship or award in the same year.

To be awarded to a student registered in a Commerce Program and who has completed a minimum of four full-course equivalents with at least a B (2.7) average. Priority will be given to a Woodsworth College student who enters the Commerce Program after being out of school for a considerable period of time (i.e. three years).

Two awards to be granted to students proceeding to Third Year of Engineering Science. Preference will be given to students who have high academic standing in the first two years; additional preference will be given to students who demonstrate strong achievement in the 2nd year Engineering Design course and who are involved in extracurricular design projects.

$5,000 awarded on admission and renewable for 3 years – potential value of $20,000. This scholarship is awarded on admission to a student entering first year of Engineering Science who demonstrates high academic achievement. Preference will be given to students who possess leadership skills and design projects and activities. The scholarship is renewable for three years provided the recipient maintains a minimum 75% overall average and continues in Engineering Science.

Awarded to a graduating student who has completed the Education (formerly Egerton Ryerson) stream of the Vic One program and the Education and Society Program. The award will be given to an individual who has demonstrated excellent leadership skills along with other key attributes advantageous to those pursuing a teaching career. Please note that, should any of the candidate(s) selected be the recipient of another significant financial award, the honour of the Sheila and David Cook Award will be made in name only for recognition purposes, with no financial award attached. An application is required.

Awarded to Victoria College students who have achieved high academic standing, and who have been accepted to study abroad through a U of T approved program. Preference will be given to students in the Education & Society minor program, those studying at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, and those with financial need.
