Scholarships

The Stephanie Ali Memorial Scholarship of approximately $1800 is awarded to students with financial need who have demonstrated commitment to community work and/or participation in charitable activities. This can include church choirs, youth group leadership, Sunday School leadership, outreach planning or missions as well as volunteer or paid work at shelters, food banks or other charitable causes. Preference will be given to candidates who are past or present members of the University of Toronto Gospel Choir.

To be awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the mooting program and a strong commitment as both a participant and coach.

This award was established in 2007 in memory of Stephanie Leung (Honours B.Sc. – French, Biology and Zoology). To be awarded to one or more New College students in either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year who exemplify Stephanie’s qualities of leadership and commitment to athletics through involvement in intramurals and/or Varsity team sports. The recipient(s) must be in good academic standing and meet the financial need and residency criteria determined by the OTSS program. Annual application period: March 1 to 31.

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program). To be awarded to (a) Full time, undergraduate student(s) in the Faculty of Arts and Science on the basis of financial need. Preference given to those enrolled in the Department of Philosophy.

Awarded on the basis of academic merit or financial need to undergraduate student(s) in the Department of Political Science.

To be awarded to (a) Full time, undergraduate student(s) at the Faculty of Law on the basis of financial need.

Awarded to a student completing Second Year of Civil Engineering on the basis of their aggregate performance in both Introduction to Civil Engineering and Construction Management courses.

To be awarded to (a) Full time, undergraduate student(s) at the Faculty of Law on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to students in the Business Law program at the Faculty of Law.

The recipient must: a) be a continuing Full time undergraduate student registered in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering; b) be successfully completing first or second year during which they were a member of New College ; c) be proceeding to the second or third year of a course in Engineering; d) applied for residence to New College for the next fall/winter session

To be awarded to International students or domestic students successfully selected to participate in a Learning Abroad experience sanctioned or supported by the University of Toronto, at either undergraduate or graduate level. Successful candidates are selected based on merit, potential, future leadership and a strong interest in learning abroad experiences. Preference may be given to students who have demonstrated financial need
