Scholarships

To be awarded to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Medicine with demonstrated financial need. Financial aid applications will be available in August.

The Teva Canada Bursary was established at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy through a donation from Teva Canada Limited to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their operations in Canada and their formal name change from Teva Novopharm to Teva Canada. This bursary is awarded to a student in any year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program on the basis of financial need. Information on application procedures will be provided to Doctor of Pharmacy students via e-mail in late September.

Awarded to one or more students enrolled in the Specialist program in Mathematics and Physics or the Specialist program in Physics based on performance in second or third year. The recipient must continue to one of the Specialist programs in Mathematics and/or Physics in the third/fourth year.

The Pharmacy Class of 5T4 has established this award to be given to a student entering the Third Year of the Doctor of Pharmacy program who has at least a B academic standing which has been the most improved over the First Year record.

The Class of 8T0 has established an award which shall be given to the student enrolled in Year 3 of the Doctor of Pharmacy program who has made the most significant contribution to the professional, athletic and social lives of her/his fellow classmates. The student shall be nominated by the class representatives at the conclusion of Third Year and is subject to the student’s successful completion of the academic year.

The 9T9 James Paul Marois Memorial Award will be granted to a medical student in third or fourth year who best exemplifies the following criteria: 1. Has documented financial need. This is the major criterion for this award. Preference is to be given to students experiencing economic hardship. 2. Has a history of involvement in his/her community through extracurricular and/or leadership activities. Involvement in either the medical, educational, or broader community is to be considered. 3. Demonstrates a commitment to promoting social justice. 4. Has an active interest in the health or marginalized populations. 5. Demonstrates humanitarianism and compassion in his/her interactions with patients and families. Award applications will be available in November.
