Scholarships

Awarded to students entering or in a third or fourth year course offered by the Department of Nutritional Sciences on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to students intending to complete the Major Program in Nutritional Sciences.

To be awarded to domestic Woodsworth College students (Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residence or Protected Persons) in second year or above. Preference given to students with financial need and academic merit

To be awarded to a student entering the fourth medical year, for the purpose of supporting a research project in Psychiatry during his/her elective rotation. Applications will be available in late-August.

To be awarded in first year for English; intended to help with the purchase of books. Eligible students are automatically considered.

Awarded on the basis of academic merit to a student in the Major or Specialist Program in the Department of Italian Studies studying Linguistics and Dialectology.

Awarded to a student who intends to complete a degree in a Humanities subject or subjects. Preference will be given to candidates from a rural Ontario background or from a small urban community.

This Prize has been established in memory to recognize a J.D. student who has been in Full time enrolment at the Law School for three years and who exemplifies the qualities of Gina Caldarelli: 1. Substantial and meaningful involvement in extra-curricular activities at the Law School in all three years; 2. An interest in the life of the Law School and the well-being of her classmates; 3. A willingness to participate in discussions and to advance opinions with grace and firmness; 4. A sense of humour; 5. Satisfactory grades.

This award was established by Alda Furtado in loving memory of her daughter Dr. Gina Furtado who tragically passed away in 2006. Dr. Furtado graduated from U of T with a B.Sc.degree in 1991 and received her DDS from New York University in 1995. Dr. Furtado believed in giving back to her community and her family and her mother are continuing this tradition. To be awarded to one or more students in any year of study on the basis of financial need.
