The 9T9 James Paul Marois Memorial Award will be granted to a medical student in third or fourth year who best exemplifies the following criteria: 1. Has documented financial need. This is the major criterion for this award. Preference is to be given to students experiencing economic hardship. 2. Has a history of involvement in his/her community through extracurricular and/or leadership activities. Involvement in either the medical, educational, or broader community is to be considered. 3. Demonstrates a commitment to promoting social justice. 4. Has an active interest in the health or marginalized populations. 5. Demonstrates humanitarianism and compassion in his/her interactions with patients and families. Award applications will be available in November.
