Scholarships

To be awarded to an outstanding student graduating from St Michael's College who will enter a graduate program at U of T in liberal arts.

Awarded to a Major or Specialist in Anthropology or sub-fields upon completion of third year on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

Gift of the late Sir John Gibson (UC 1863). The value is approximately $400 plus the tuition allowance for a total possible value of approximately $2,400 over four years; awarded for general proficiency. The scholarships include tuition allowance of $500 per year which is renewable with an annual grade point average of at least 3.50 on a course load of 4 full credit equivalents (FCEs) from September to September. Eligible students are automatically considered.

Awarded for proficiency in French conversation, based on marks obtained in FSL443H/FSL473H. Open only to a Canadian citizen (by birth or naturalization) whose native tongue is not French.

To be awarded annually to a student on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

Awarded to a student enrolled in a program offered by the School of the Environment. Academic merit combined with preference for the following: 1) Demonstrated passion for issues directly related to adaption and mitigation of climate change in Canada; 2) Demonstrated desire to learn more about market based instruments and their use by Governments, Industry and others as solutions to the challenge of climate change; 3) Demonstrated interest in the use of International students capital markets and the linkages to International students carbon offset projects. Awarded to an undergraduate Engineering student with demonstrated financial need who is part of the Skule Nite team (the team are students who have been recruited by the Skule Nite executive committee; preference will be given to a First and/or Second Year students with significant involvement in Skule Nite. Academic standing be considered.

Awarded to undergraduate students (Full time and/or part-time) enrolled in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering experiencing challenging or unforeseen circumstances, with particular focus on students in need of increased mental health and wellness financial support

Awarded to an outstanding 3rd year student in an Economics Major or Specialist Program in the Department of Economics who intends to focus his/her studies on economic policy and/or history. Eligible applicants for the award must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. The award is renewable in the fourth year provided the student remains enrolled in a Major or Specialist program with a focus on economic policy and/or history and they maintain a 3.0 GPA. Department committee will consider factors such as financial need, community contribution and outside activities.

Awarded to a top fourth year undergraduate student specializing in astronomy and astrophysics based on demonstrated excellence in the written report and oral presentation for AST425Y.
