Scholarships

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program).

The Harold Willett Stewart Memorial Scholarship is from the bequest of the late Edith May Stewart in memory of her brother. The scholarship, of the value of the annual income from the fund, to be awarded to a student of University College in the graduating year for the purpose of pursuing post-graduate studies

To be awarded to students of Woodsworth College, either Full time or part-time, who are registered in a degree, diploma or certificate program, and in need of financial assistance.

To be awarded at Convocation to a student in the final year of the Doctor of Medicine program, on the basis of financial need. The recipient will have excelled in and intend to specialize in oncology. Award applications will be available in March.

Harry Forman graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy in 1947 at the age of 20. He had an almost sixty-year professional career including, as a young pharmacist, co-owner of a neighborhood pharmacy, a many-year associateship with Shoppers Drug Mart, and, in later years, working as a part-time pharmacist before retiring at the age of 80. Harry loved his career in pharmacy, in part because of his life-long, close relationships with fellow pharmacists, but largely because of all the many customers he got to know and care for over the years, often delivering prescriptions to those who could not easily come in to pick up their medications. Harry’s closest partner in life was his dear wife Frances and together they raised four children. Harry and Frances Forman were married for sixty years before they passed away within two months of each other in 2014.

The scholarship will be awarded annually for 5 years to one incoming undergraduate student in the BScN program based on academic merit and financial need.

To be awarded to undergraduate students on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to students in the final year of the M.D. program who have demonstrated excellence and interest In the area of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology in course work and during elective period. Award applications will be available in March.

Awarded to students in any year enrolled in a Specialist Program in Mathematics on the basis of financial need. Academic merit will also be considered.

To be awarded to a student living in Loudon House, Sir Daniel Wilson Residence at University College on the basis of financial need. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.

Awarded to a student with overall A standing in the Fourth Year who is enrolled in the Specialist Program in English or the Specialist Program in History, and who obtains highest standing in the senior essay course in English or History.
