Scholarships

To be awarded to a student entering the third year or graduating year for high academic performance in the field of medicine, engineering or sociology. It is the donor's hope that the recipient would exhibit qualities of leadership and all-round participation in extracurricular activities.

The Kiyoshi and Hana Shimizu Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Kiyoshi and Hana Shimizu by their son Tsutomu (UC 1951). This award is intended to support a student graduating from University College and going on to further study, who intends to make teaching his or her lifetime career. Preference will be given to those going on to primary- or secondary-school teaching, but post-secondary teaching will also be eligible. The award will be made on the basis of academic merit and dedication to the teaching profession. Financial circumstances may also be considered, but will not have priority

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program). To be awarded to (a) Full time, undergraduate student(s) at the University of Toronto on the basis of financial need.

Awarded to a third or fourth year student enrolled in a Specialist or Major program in the Department of Computer Science. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates creativity and innovation with respect to the field of technology. Award will be made on the basis of academic achievement, reference letters and an essay. Please contact the Department for an application.

The award is to be given to a Full time student in 3rd or 4th year in the Faculty on the basis of strong academic achievement. Preference will be given to students that demonstrate an interest in software development based on course selection, extra-curricular activities and/or work terms and who demonstrate creativity and innovation with respect to the field of technology.

Awarded to a female student enrolled in a Specialist or Major program in the Department of Computer Science in third or fourth year of study. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates creativity and innovation with respect to the field of technology. Award will be made on the basis of academic achievement, reference letters and an essay. Please contact the Department for an application.

This award is to be given to a 3rd or 4th year female student enrolled Full time in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering on basis of strong academic achievement and demonstrated interest in technology based on course selection, extracurricular activities and/or work terms.

Awarded to a student(s) entering Third or Fourth Year on the basis of demonstrated financial need and submission of an award application which includes a personal statement which outlines the student’s societal views on how society should function so humanist values are honoured.

The Kordellas-Tripp Foundation Nursing Award will be awarded to undergraduate students based on demonstrated financial need and submission of an award application which includes a personal statement that outlines the student’s views on how society should function so humanist values are honoured.
