This award was established by former students and professional colleagues "in recognition and honour of Joseph Harker Johnson, D.D.S., formerly ProfesĀsor of Oral Surgery and Anaesthesia, Librarian of the Faculty, Curator of the Museum, distinguished author and outstanding representative of his profession." It is awarded to the most outstanding student in clinical Oral Surgery and Anaesthesia. Its annual value is the income from the endowment fund. First awarded in 1967/68.
