Scholarships

1) Competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students in attendance at the University 2) Award will be made on the basis of an essay upon a subject connected with International students or Interracial Relations 3) Essays are to be typewritten and consist of approximately 3,000 words. They should be accompanied by a bibliography, and all authorities should be cited and quotations indicated. 4) Each essay should be submitted under a pseudonym which is to be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the writer?s real name, College or Faculty, and home address.

Awarded to an undergraduate student enrolled in a major or specialist arts degree program, who is registered at New College at the University of Toronto, on the basis of financial need. Students should have demonstrated community involvement. Academic merit will also be considered. Must also adhere to the conditions of OTSS. Students must complete a UofT Grant application on ACORN.

Awarded to New College social science students (Full time or part-time) on the basis of financial need. Academic merit will also be considered. Students are automatically considered for this award in September, based on academic results from the previous fall/winter session.

Awarded to the student in the Major or Specialist program in Sociology on the St. George Campus (typically after second year) who has received the highest mark in SOC204 and SOC254.

To be awarded to students either Full time or part-time, registered in New College on the basis of academic performance and/or financial need. Students are automatically considered for this award in September, based on academic results from the previous fall/winter session.

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program). To be awarded on the basis of financial need to a student or students in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Scholarship to be awarded to to a student entering the first year in the Faculty of Arts and Science at New College on the basis of outstanding achievement in Grade 12 or the equivalent. The scholarship may be renewed up to three times provided A standing (GPA of 3.50) is maintained.
